Kingdom Heirs Concert*** Part I

The Kingdom Heirs have been singing their foot stomping music since 1981. Their music can be found most anywhere now as the group is one of the most requested groups in Southern Gospel music.

This group can often be found performing at the Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. You can view more of the parks hours and location here--Dollywood.

However, this last week, I had the privilege of attending their concert. I participated as one of the photographers, thanks to my good friends  The Hodsons, and Life Line Concerts, and you can view all of their concert dates here if you get the chance to see them, tell them you saw it mentioned on my site.

I will be the first to tell you, that I really enjoyed this concert, and the music was awesome too. A lot of great stomping music. But what made it so moving was Steve's testimony towards the end. I kept crying all the way through it, and just listening to how the Lord touched him in such a personal way, gave me chills.

From that, I will tell you a little more about the band themselves, or it can be seen from their website, Kingdom Heirs.

Just on a side note here, I do not get paid to advertise these sites! I just enjoyed them and thought that you would love to know where to find them in your own areas. That's the only reason I post them. For informational purposes only!

 

 

Now, more about the group. The owners of the group are brothers, Steve and Kreis French. Steve is one of the main baritones, and Kreis plays the bass guitar. Dennis Murphy is the drummer. Arthur Rice is the lead singer. Jeff Chapman sings the bass. Andy Stringfield, is the youngest member of the group, at only 28 years old, and he plays the piano and sings baritone. Lastly, Jerry Martin sings the tenor.

Couples Valentine's Day Banquet

I had a blast this last weekend going to the Couples Valentine's Banquet at my church. There were roughly 10 couples that attended, and it was my job to shoot a lot of pictures. I'm only going to show you a few of my favorites that I had the opportunity to take.

 

 

The first couple I am showing you is my Pastor and his wife. Morgan and Dorthea. Both of them are wonderful people, and he is a great Pastor.

 

They were a lot of fun shooting, as I learned they had never had their photo done professionally before until that night. They are newly wed couple of four years. So it was an opportunity for them as well as me!

 

They had the night all decked out with a violin player, who played soft music. Everyone complimented the chef, who was from our Downtown location, as our church has several locations.

 

It was wonderful being able to hear the person next to you talking, without all the loud music and people that are usually gathered at an expensive restaurant. That's what folks complimented them for the most about the entire evening.

 

In between the dinner and the speakers, we had picture time! This is where the fun really began, as my mom helped me with some of the photo props. If anyone knows my mom, you know she doesn't do anything half-heartily, it just isn't her style.

 

She allowed me to use her boa's and hats that she has collected over the years in different places. Then, we got from Joann's Craft Store, some of the head band things that wobble with hearts and things on them. It was too cute. Here's a picture of my mom and dad, as they allowed me the opportunity to play with the settings and lighting before it all began. We did notice one thing through that process, we didn't like the red background, and found the white walls to be more appropriate. Take a look--

 



 





What we ended up doing for the backdrop was to add some red heart balloons, and that created our background. The rest was up to the folks getting the pictures. We used a pink tablecloth to cover the chair.

 

When the break time was done, they played a not-so-newly wed game. It was hilarious to see which couple wasn't so certain of the answers. I somewhat wished I had taken some more pictures of the program itself, but it's ok, that I didn't as well.

 

So now, I'm going to show you a few of my favorite photos of the ones I had the opportunity to shoot.

These folks were a lot of fun to practice my photography with. Some of them really got into using the props, while others, declined. But all in all a great night for everyone!

Family Fun



Hi guys, thanks for stopping by. Today, I will begin by telling you that I had so much fun over this past weekend. I went first of all on Saturday to watch my niece and nephew play in the UPWARDS games. This time, both my niece and nephew were playing in the basketball game portion of UPWARDS. Their church on the southside of Jacksonville, is relatively large. So they are able to hosts these games for them. What I love about UPWARDS as I watch it through their eyes, is their self-confidence that the games build, as well as it is teaching them how to get along with others in the right manner. With sports being such a physical thing, it's good for them to learn this at an early age. If you have UPWARDS available at the local church's in your neighborhoods, I'd highly recommend them! They do so much for kids of all ages, and it also allows them to learn the game too.

My nephew, Seth, was the first one up in the games. He had a blast playing. He did good in many things. He was quick at trying to defend the ball. He loved being able to bring it from one side of the court to the other and eventually dunking it in the basket. That was what he loved most about it, was getting it in the basket.

 

 

He showed a great attitude and positive thinking during the game. These are just a few of the things that UPWARDS do for a young guy like Seth.

 

 

 

 

 

He did such a good job, and his brother, Brandon, is one of the coaches along with their father. When the games were finished they were given a star for their reward and something yummy to eat on the way home! Seth got a white star for all of his great work.

 

 

 

 

When that portion of the games were finished, we headed to my sister's house for a small break. While at their house, I was able to capture this photo of my niece Rachael.

 

 

 

 

My only other niece, Hannah, was up next in her games. She is the one pictured up above. What a player she was today! I think the coaches even took a second look at her a couple of times, because she played a terrific game! Go Hannah!

 

 



 

She was quick, and made several baskets! A great game for them both! They both worked very hard, and I hope to be able to see more games later on with them each. My mom and I had gone to the games together, and had been late arriving that morning, so I missed one of my other nephews playing. So I promised him I would try to go again, as soon as possible!

 

 

In between the games, I got a picture of my mom with Seth. He absolutely loves his mamma, as do they all, but I loved being able to capture this photo just before we left.

 

 

 

 

In case you are wondering, I have 8 nieces and nephews and the majority of them are heavily involved in UPWARDS. The last one I will show you is the one of my oldest niece, Rachael, who is one of the cheerleaders coach. She loves to work with them, and was a busy girl that day as was her brother Brandon, who bounced between games. I don't know how they do that all day long and not get tired, but I guess that's what kids do! LOL!

Ball Point Park--Jacksonville

 

 

Welcome to my blog, so honored to have you here. I’m so excited about this new blog and to show you all of my latest shoots. I’m a new photographer, and I am always looking for new tips. If you have a

Today, I get to share with you about my trip to Ball Point Park in Jacksonville on the Westside of town. It’s one of those places that few know about, or at least that I didn’t know about until a dear friend shared it with me. So of course, I had to go investigate. It is a great place to go for a stroll, and a great place to see the city skyline. I have not been able to go back and get sunset shots yet, but it’s on my list of things to do, because I can only imagine the type of shots it can make.

 

There is a step place in front of the edging of the river that hosts a spot for you to stand and look across the river at. I use my 15-200mm lens, and I use a Nikon D3200 for all of my shots at this spot. I usually try to change between the ISO settings and Aperture settings for the most part.

 

I like to experiment with different settings to get the different fills of what my camera can do. Since, I’m still learning! I will post a few of those shots here for you to see them in different angels. I hope that you will enjoy my first post on this site, and please watch for more. Thanks.

 

 

 

 

 



 

 



 

The great thing about this part is that on the other side of the street is another park. It is convenient to the Stinson Park, which is right around the corner from a marina boat station. So there are many times of views from this location, which makes it a nice outing with kids, or for ourselves.

While I was there the last time, there were many different boats out on the water. Here is some of what I captures on that day! Enjoy:

 



 

 

 

 

 



 Also, when you are sitting at the boat ramp, you can look across the water and see some of the most gorgeous homes--homes one can only dream of. They are beautiful to look at across the river. Take a look for yourself here:

 

 

 

I'd say this is a great place to not only walk your dog, but a great place for kids that love a good swing set or monkey bars to enjoy. So which photo is your favorite?
